Landlord Requests Furniture to be Moved to Make Repairs?
Our landlord is requesting access to our apartment to “upgrade the electrical subpanel.” We live in California, where there is a 24 hour notice to enter, which they have complied with. As part of the notice, they have requested that we move furniture and other things that patio furniture parts and repair may block access to the work area. One of the areas they have requested access to is the storage closet on our patio, which is filled to the brim. The request is also asking for access to an area that would require moving a TV stand and A LOT of A/V equipment. My question is what is our requirement in order to legally fulfill our end of the lease. It seems pretty unreasonable to request the movement of all this furniture and belongings. Moving the A/V equipment will require a minimum two hour commitment, by my estimation. Also, where are we to put all the stuff from the storage closet for two days while the work is scheduled to be done?
